This position reports to the Referee Development Officer and will support the new referee academy plan. The role will be home based and will be both a coordination role and a mentoring/coaching role.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities will include:

• Ensure that mentors (coaches) of suitable ability are available to staff all games
• Monitor activity levels of mentors (coaches) from the academy
• Carry out regular appraisals of referees to identify their individual training needs and advise RDO
• Appoint appropriate referees to each academy game from the selected pool of match officials and to monitor appointments.
• Provide feedback to Club/Leagues, RDO
• To ensure the scheme is managed efficiently at local level, liaising with local leagues to ensure match officials are appointed to appropriate fixtures.
• Report any issues to RDO depending upon the nature of the issue.
• Ensure the participating club or league is satisfied with the academy process/system.
• Ensure that self assessments are completed and mentoring/coaching reports are collected and acted upon.
• To carry out regular reviews of the Academy with the RDO.
• Receive confirmation from candidates of their availability for games as per fixture list
• Point of contact to deal with any referee match day difficulties if they arise.
• To attend Academy In service training events and academy coordinators meetings.
• To Track which leagues/games the referees are being appointed to.
