Company: The Football League Trust Location: Accrington, United Kingdom Hours of Duty: 37.5 hours per week, to include evenings and weekends as required Location: Accrington Stanley Football Club, The Frasier Eagle Stadium. Accrington Stanley FC Football in the Community Scheme are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and hard working manager to oversee the Football in the Community Scheme at the club. This is a unique opportunity to develop and work with key partners in the borough of Hyndburn and surrounding areas. This role is to enhance ALL SPORTS and increase participation of physical activity throughout the community. This must be achieved by using a wide range of activities and is NOT Football specific. Please note that Accrington Stanley Football in the Community Scheme will soon become a Charitable Trust. When this transition takes place you will then be responsible to the Board of Trustee's Job Purpose: 1. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of a sustainable Community football, sports and physical activity project in the borough of Hyndburn. 2. Working with partners the post holder will design, develop and promote a community football, sports and physical activity development programme, to address a range of issues across the borough of Hyndburn, these will link into the Football League Trusts four main delivery themes, Sports Participation, Health, Education and Social Inclusion. 3. To manage all areas of the Accrington Stanley Football in the Community Scheme's business to include administrative, financial, human resources and delivery of programmes. 4. To support Accrington Stanley FC in their aims and objectives Specific Duties: 1. To engage and consult with local communities and key partners in order to improve the delivery of football, sport and physical activity opportunities and services at a local level and increase participation amongst target groups. 2. To work with Accrington Stanley FC and the Football League Trust to gain Charitable Status for the Community Scheme. To appoint strategically chosen members on to the Board of Directors for the trust that ensures a reflection of your key partners. This will need to be completed by the end of the 08/09 season in line with the Football League Trusts Bronze award criteria. 3. To be responsible for the development, co-ordination and implementation of a sustainable community football, sport and physical activity development plan. 4. To be responsible for management of the Football in the Community Budgets, Accounts and staff, providing quarterly reports on the budget and all other relevant matters to the Chief Executive (Or in future the Board of Trustee's) 5. Produce annually work programmes, key objectives, reports and Performance Indicators in relation to the development of scheme, linking into the Football League Trusts Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. 6. To work with individuals, communities, voluntary groups, local clubs and partner organisations to establish links and pathways for all people in Hyndburn to participate in football, sport and physical activity. This will include working with excluded and "hard to reach" groups of people. 7. To work with key partners in attracting extra external investment into the Hyndburn area using Football as the vehicle for delivery, this will be done through traditional and non - traditional football partners and funders. 8. To ensure that Accrington Stanley FC Football in the Community Scheme become the main deliverers of football based activity in the Hyndburn area. To look to continually lead in the marketplace by ensuring all staff are correctly qualified, CRB checked and meet the Football League Trusts minimum operation Standards (Bronze Award) 9. Have an understanding of equity and social inclusion and where appropriate support delivery of specific projects. 10. To develop effective working relationships with key agencies e.g. - The Football League Trust - Education (includes the Local Authority, Colleges and Primary and Secondary Schools within the borough of Hyndburn) - Government Agencies (i.e. North West Development Agency and Home Office) - Grassroots Clubs (Clubs and Leagues affiliated and playing in structured competition) - Lancashire Police - Lancashire County FA Ltd - Groundwork - Libraries - Help the Aged - Hyndburn Community Leisure - Hyndburn Borough Council - Hyndburn Borough Council - Sports Development Unit - East Lancashire Primary Care Trust - Other Sports Provision - Princes Trust - Registered Social Landlords - Tenants and resident associations - Voluntary and community groups within the borough of Hyndburn - Youth Offending Service - Other Professional Football Clubs - LEGI Programme Organisers and Managers 11. To prepare written reports on matters relating to the development of the post. 12. To ensure that the optimum resources are procured to deliver the programmes. 13. Raise the profile of the Accrington Stanley Football Club and the Community Scheme in both traditional and non-traditional sports and community provision throughout the borough of Oldham. 14. Provide information on the projects for the Accrington Stanley and Football League Trusts website, newsletter and similar publication resources of partners. 15. To undertake any other duties which might reasonably be deemed within the status of the job and appropriate to the post? 16.
