It’s that time of the year again. It’s the time to think about the summer months and where your team will find their football enjoyment. Well the Hessle Sporting 6 a side tournament is back, bigger and better yet again.

 

Being held on the weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th June 2010 the Hessle Sporting tournament continues to be bigger and better year on year. Last year we saw over 130 teams playing great football across the weekend. We of course hope that everybody enjoyed their day.

 

And this year we introduce yet another age group to our event as we look to accommodate a group of Under 6's into the fold. Therefore this year the tournament is open for age groups from Under 6's to Under 13's.

 

Prior to last years event we listened to what the teams had said and changed the format to make for more exciting, attacking football. The tournament is now based wholly on mini soccer rules, no silly goal area restrictions, no silly goalkeeper regulations and no silly small goals. We want the kids to play normal football in small sided format and to enjoy the day throughout. This was a huge success in 2009 and will continue in 2010.

 

There will of course be lots of other attractions including side stalls, BBQ and bouncy castles to make for an entertaining weekend.

 

Last year we had up to 28 teams in an age group competing in 4 frenzied groups followed by some jawdropping knock out football to follow. The standard was excellent and the feedback we received was outstanding. We are aiming to achieve this across the age groups this year.

 

We sincerely hope that you will want to be part of that and because of demand we must encourage you to send back your application form early. The cost is just £25 for one team or £40 for two with a squad limit of 10 players per team.

It certainly promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
